Ronald Satterthwaite

Hello, my name is Ronald Satterthwaite (Sat-er-thyte), and I am thrilled to have joined Sargent Hayes & Associates. I have taken a very circuitous route to the practice of law, but I am excited to be here. 

I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. I went to undergrad at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX where I played football, Go Tigers! After graduating from Trinity with a BA in Political Science, I attended Howard University. I enrolled into Howard’s dual degree program at the School of Law (HUSL) and the Business school (HUMBA). I graduated in 2014, earning a JD/MBA with a concentration in Supply Chain Management. 

I became a member of the Texas Bar association in November of 2015 and moved to Seattle to begin work as a procurement agent at Boeing. I worked at Boeing for 6 years in supplier management and sourcing. While at Boeing, I earned an MS in Data Analytics from Seattle University in December of 2019. In the fall of 2021, I joined Kaplan North America Legal. While working at Kaplan, I would travel to different Law schools and Universities across the PNW to sell bar prep course to law students during the fall and spring semesters. This was a fantastic opportunity to explore the beautiful PNW and I was grateful to be able to do that. During the summer and winter breaks, I would help mentor the students as they progressed through the course in preparation for the bar exam.

Although I had not practiced law after graduating from Howard, I had a lot of legal adjacent positions that sparked my interests. In 2022, I became licensed in Washington and joined Sargent Hayes & Associates in August 2023. I am experienced in negotiations, contracts, business associations, family law, and estate planning. 

My interests include working out, the lake, sports, some outdoor activities and the arts. I still enjoy playing pick up games of basketball, football, soccer, or volleyball and you can find me on Sundays watching NFL games during the football season. I also dabble in stand-up comedy. Stand up comedian was my latest career choice prior to joining Sargent Hayes & Associates.
